I spent a total of three days in Rockford, and although my time there was a little unusual, I still had a solid visit. Plus, I got to experience my first snow of my trip!
I first arrived in Rockford on Sunday, Novermber 9th. After a couple hours of driving, I was feeling antsy to get my legs moving, so I decided to walk around Sinnissippi park. It was admittedly very cold, but I had drank a coffee beforehand and it gave me the energy boost I needed to keep moving. The park itself wasn't spectacular, but it was still a fun time and gave me a great opportunity to take in my first snow since I started my trip.

Eventually, the cold got to me and I decided to check out the Cherryvale Mall. The mall itself was pretty typical at face value, but as I continued to walk around, I found small particularities that made the mall stand out. First of all, this mall was not of the dead variety. I was quite impressed by the number of stores that were actually open and I literally could not get away from people if I wanted to. Additionally, every Sunday the mall had a sort of mini market on the lower levels, where various venders that didn't have storefronts could set up a table and peddle their wares. I found it quite fun to stroll through the tables and see what each person was offering. Although it wasn't something I would usually do on my trip-as most malls are pretty similar-exploring the mall was a great way to escape the snow and kept me entertained.
I didn't have anymore notable adventures until the morning of Tuesday, November 11th. I woke up that morning and decided I wanted to go see some more of Rockford before lunch. I packed up the car and headed to downtown Rockford for a stroll. Unfortunately,
