First Day in San Diego

Although I technically arrived in San Diego yesterday afternoon, today was my first full day in San Diego. Let's just say I made it a good one!
I started the day with a really nice workout at the Dan McKinney YMCA. I am currently staying with my friend, Nick's, parents, Tom and Randy. I am extremely grateful that they not only let me stay with them for two days, but that Tom invited me to work out this morning.

After a post-workout rest and lunch, I decided to see a little bit of San Diego. I started with the University of California at San Diego (UCSD)

Walking through the campus was not only relaxing, but very visually appealing. Each building seemed to have a unique architectural inspiration or design that drew me further into the campus

UCSD students are encouraged to express their unique personalities and passions in the windows of their dormitories. It makes walking through each courtyard quite fun.

Unfortunately, while some choose to display their national pride or their love of a specific piece of media (pictured above), others choose to display their comedic sensibilities (below).

After two hours of walking around in the sun, I decided it was time for a swim, and what better place to enjoy the ocean than at Ocean Beach.

Although I had to park about ten minutes from the water itself, I greatly enjoyed the stroll and used it get excited for my swim.

After a refreshing soak in the ocean, I decided to soak up the sun for just a few more minutes while listening to some beach jams that ranged from Bob Marley to the Beach Boys

Even though it was just a quick hangout at the beach, words can't express how refreshed and excited I felt after taking a swim and chilling in the sand.
This was an excellent day in more ways than one. Not only did I get to sight-see at the UCSD campus, I also got to just chill at the beach. If I'm being quite frank, today captured everything I hoped this trip would be; seeing new things and enjoying every bit of it. I look forward to the many more California adventures to come. As far as first days go, this one really couldn't be beat.

What a good start to your trip. That beach looked amazing! Good music choices 🌴
Nice work on the photos! Fun juxtaposition: showing the different types of campus commentary through the window displays.
